Cornwall in September

How on earth have we made it to September? Whilst I love the summer, the autumnal months are my favourite and I love Cornwall as it quietens down a little.  It seems to me that Cornwall really comes out of it’s shell in September with some  special events taking place…well worth booking a stay to make the most of them:

8-10 September – Newquay Fish Festival – showcasing the best seafood Newquay has to offer with some great chef demonstrations and tastings taking place.
8-10 Sept – The Little Orchard Cider and Music Festival – With Scouting for Girls headlining the Saturday night I really wish I could go!
17 Oct – The Fal River Walk – a lovely charity walk of either 6 or 15 miles
22-24 September – The Great Cornish Food Festival – we love this festival, with loads to try and producers to meet it is well worth a visit,
30 September – Griggs Open day – such a lovely family day with animals and local groups and charities it is a really good family day out.

One my my favourite things this time of year is also a good old walk with Bonnie, our beloved dog and finding a lovely pub to enjoy lunch in.  I will be complying my top 5 favourite for your for the next blog.  For now I am finishing sewing in the name labels into the school uniform ready for the return of the grandchildren tomorrow who will be year one and preschool.  Wishing all those returning to school a lovely time.

Coronavirus Update – 24th March

We wanted to give you a quick update if you’ve booked with us or are wanting to in the coming months.

At the moment we are closed until the end of April and will continue to monitor the situations.  This is to ensure we can do our bit in helping to stop the spread of the virus – now is a time to stay at home and spend time with family there.  If you have a holiday booked with us or have any questions then please do give us a call or send us an email to

Whilst now isn’t the time for you to come to Cornwall, it’ll still be here when we get through this – we’ll see you again.

Take care and stay healthy

Judith and Family.
